Lewis Hamilton continues to believe in Ferrari’s project, asserting that the Italian team has “all the necessary ingredients to win championships.”
The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion has experienced a challenging period since joining Scuderia Ferrari. Despite the difficulties, he remains confident in the Italian team and its long-term vision for the 2026 season.
Hamilton recently took a moment to reflect on his time at Ferrari so far, describing it as perhaps his “most intense” season in Formula 1 to date. Nevertheless, he also made it clear that he has no doubts about Ferrari’s potential, affirming that the Maranello squad possesses everything required to contend for another World Championship title.
His move from Mercedes to the Italian team had started with high expectations. The British driver aimed not only to secure an eighth Drivers’ Championship this year but also to help Ferrari reclaim the Constructors’ Championship.
Unfortunately, those plans were disrupted by numerous challenges during the first half of the season. Beyond the issues with the SF-25 car itself, McLaren has been dominating both the drivers’ and constructors’ standings by a significant margin.
The season for the 40-year-old has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. There have been standout moments, such as securing pole position and winning the Sprint race in China, alongside more frustrating experiences, including the Hungarian Grand Prix where Hamilton described himself as “absolutely useless.”
Despite these setbacks, Hamilton’s faith in Ferrari remains strong. He believes the upcoming summer break will be beneficial both for himself and for the entire Maranello team.
Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, Hamilton expressed optimism for Ferrari’s future, telling fans that the team has all the components needed to challenge at the highest level.
“The team has all the ingredients required to win the World Championship,” the British driver stated – “It’s simply a matter of aligning everything and making it work smoothly, freely, and without stress,” added the 40-year-old. “And that’s exactly what all of us are trying to achieve.”
When asked about how the current season is unfolding—his 19th in Formula 1—Hamilton explained why the summer break is crucial as a reset for both himself and the Maranello squad: “This season has definitely been the most intense of my career, I would say, especially from a work perspective. Integrating into a new culture and a new team hasn’t been smooth in every respect. It has truly been a battle,” the British driver said.
“I really need to switch off and recharge, spend time with the kids, and enjoy some laughter,” he continued. “I’m sure there will be tears at some point, and I think that’s actually very healthy. But I am always excited to race. I love what I do, I adore wearing the red overalls, I love working with this team, and I have complete confidence in this squad.”
Lewis Hamilton also added: “It’s really hard to explain. I had already built strong bonds with my previous team. Over time, you develop real camaraderie, and I see that passion here. I love it. All I want to do is give my absolute best.”
“Of course, I need to deliver most of this on track, and that doesn’t always happen. But I also see areas where we can continually improve, and there are things I can personally enhance as well.”
“I am really looking forward to this break. I believe everyone, especially the guys at the factory, will enjoy this period with their families, and we will return recharged and ready to tackle the second half of the season with full energy,” concluded the British champion.
