After a difficult Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, Lewis Hamilton made comments that suggested internal tensions within Scuderia Ferrari, reigniting speculation about a possible departure from the Italian team.
The weekend in Budapest proved to be one to forget for British driver Lewis Hamilton, who failed to finish higher than twelfth place in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. It was yet another disappointing result for the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, whose debut season with Ferrari has been marked by fluctuating performance and a lack of consistency.
What truly worried the passionate Tifosi of Scuderia Ferrari, however, were the comments made by car number 44 during the weekend. Following a frustrating qualifying session in which he was eliminated in Q2 and failed to reach the top ten shootout, Lewis Hamilton openly stated that perhaps Ferrari should consider replacing him as a driver due to his inability to deliver strong results.
His statement sparked widespread debate on social media, with many Ferrari fans expressing concern and dismay at the thought of losing Hamilton after just a single season with the Maranello-based team. Supporters of the legendary Italian outfit have made it clear they still have faith in Hamilton’s ability and do not want to see his departure after only twelve months in red.
Lewis Hamilton remains downbeat after the race
After the race, the former Mercedes driver once again appeared downcast when speaking to the media. “It didn’t go well. We weren’t able to improve compared to qualifying, and the overall mood remains the same,” said Lewis Hamilton, clearly frustrated by another underwhelming weekend.
Referring back to his comments after qualifying, Hamilton seemed to reinforce the idea that his future with Ferrari might be uncertain. “When you feel something, there’s not much you can do,” he explained. “There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that aren’t very pleasant. But I still love this sport,” added the British driver, wearing his usual number 44.
These remarks have once again brought attention to what may be deeper issues within Ferrari’s internal structure, raising questions about team dynamics, communication, and Hamilton’s long-term motivation. While the 2025 Formula 1 season is far from over, such statements only add to the uncertainty surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s future with Scuderia Ferrari.
