Lewis Hamilton faces another split from manager Marc Hynes
The first split
It was in 2021 when Lewis Hamilton and Marc Hynes, the manager of the seven-time world champion, amicably parted ways after a collaboration that began in 2015. This partnership lasted through the #44’s repeated successes during his time at Mercedes and was renewed just last year following Sir Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. However, even this time, on the eve of the 2026 Formula 1 season, Hynes appears to be close to ending his relationship with Hamilton for a second time.
Details still unclear
According to reports from Daily Mail Sport, the 1999 British Formula 3 champion seems destined to take on a new role at Cadillac, a team making its Formula 1 debut this year and representing the eleventh team on the starting grid. It is also unclear whether the split will be complete or if Hynes will remain involved in Lewis Hamilton’s sports management company, known as “Project 44.”
In addition to serving as manager for the current Ferrari driver, Hynes has also held the position of CEO of this management company. Even in this case, although neither Ferrari nor Cadillac have commented publicly, there have been no reported tensions between the two in recent weeks, suggesting that the second separation is expected to occur once again on friendly terms.
The reported second split between Lewis Hamilton and Marc Hynes marks a significant shift in the superstar’s inner circle just as he embarks on the crucial 2026 regulatory reset with Ferrari. While Hynes has been a cornerstone of Hamilton’s off-track success and managed the complexities of the Maranello transition, his potential move to the nascent Cadillac F1 project highlights the massive recruitment drive currently sweeping through the paddock. The Briton has shown in the past that he can maintain high-level performance despite changes in his management structure, and this friendly separation likely allows both men to pursue ambitious new chapters in the ever-evolving F1 landscape.
Marc Hynes therefore appears set to trade his management of the sport’s most successful driver for a foundational role at Cadillac, ending his second stint at the helm of Lewis Hamilton’s personal and sporting affairs.
