The British champion is proud of Ferrari’s progress and their improved approach to qualifying in Austin.
A clear step forward
Compared to the Sprint qualifying session, Ferrari showed solid progress in Saturday’s qualifying at the Circuit of the Americas. Charles Leclerc secured third position, while Lewis Hamilton took fifth, confirming encouraging improvements for the Scuderia.
The seven-time world champion appeared satisfied not only with the on-track result but also with the team’s mentality and commitment. “We made a big improvement compared to Friday, and I’m really grateful to the guys in the garage for the changes they made before the session,” Lewis Hamilton explained. “Our execution was much better — a real step forward. We tried something different, and it worked really well. I’m very proud of the team and thankful for their openness and the adjustments they made.”
Lewis Hamilton went on to describe what exactly had improved: “It’s really about how we managed the session — the way we communicated, stayed calmer, the timing of when we left the garage, the tyre temperatures… all those little things. We just managed everything better.”
Lewis keeps dreaming
Despite starting from the third row, Lewis Hamilton made it clear that he still aims high for the United States Grand Prix. “My goal is to try and win the race. There are quite a few cars to pass from fifth place, but I’m happy to be closer. I’ll give it my best,” he said confidently.
The start of the United States Grand Prix is scheduled for 20:00 Central European Time.
