Lewis Hamilton thanked the Scuderia Ferrari team following the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix, which was marked by a remarkable comeback that fully reflected his racing spirit. Despite starting the race from the pit lane, the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion finished in seventh place, securing valuable points for the Maranello-based team and once again demonstrating his relentless determination and competitive drive. At the end of the race held at the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Lewis Hamilton spoke candidly about his feelings, the hard work of the team, and the mistakes made over the course of a challenging weekend.
“I don’t know… These conditions definitely gave me many opportunities, and they are the kind of conditions I grew up racing in,” Lewis Hamilton told Formula 1 media. “Yes, I’ve learned to love these kinds of situations. I still want to apologise to the fans for the way this weekend went.”
Hamilton Reflects on the New Ferrari Suspension and His Weekend Performance
The British driver did not shy away from taking responsibility and openly acknowledged his role in the less-than-perfect performance during the early phases of the Grand Prix weekend. “There were many factors that contributed to the mistakes, especially on Friday,” said Lewis Hamilton. “But as for Saturday, it was entirely my fault. However, I will keep pushing no matter what.” His words came with a tone of determination, underlining his commitment to making progress.
Lewis Hamilton also emphasised the importance of the final result and how much it helped the team move forward in understanding their technical upgrades. “We brought home some points and made up quite a few positions, and that’s definitely a positive result. Now I have a much better understanding of the changes we introduced. We’ll go back to the factory with a clearer vision and a stronger sense of direction.”
Finally, the Ferrari driver took a moment to publicly thank the entire Scuderia Ferrari team for their continuous effort in bringing updates and technical improvements to the SF-25 single-seater. He acknowledged the dedication shown by all the staff involved in Maranello and at the track. “I’m extremely grateful for all the hard work they’ve done. I want to genuinely thank everyone—there are so many people involved, and they’ve worked incredibly hard. I really need to take a moment to thank them, because they are continuing to push forward non-stop.”
The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix served as another example of Lewis Hamilton’s perseverance and ability to extract performance in tough conditions, even when faced with a compromised starting position. His reflections on the race weekend and his deeper understanding of the car’s suspension upgrades show that both the British driver and Scuderia Ferrari are steadily building momentum as they aim to close the gap to the front-runners in the championship.
