F1 | Hamilton satisfied despite start penalty: now Lewis wants to conquer Ferrari
Lewis Hamilton said he was still satisfied with his first Monza race as a Ferrari driver, despite the penalty that held him back.
The penalty he received at Zandvoort effectively affected his start at Monza, forcing him to begin the race from tenth position. The British driver, however, managed to recover much of the lost ground in a small comeback that delighted the many tifosi present at the Autodromo.
Lewis increasingly positive looking ahead
At the end of the race, Lewis Hamilton reflected on his weekend, showing an increasingly positive attitude. “I’d say it went quite well. Honestly, I couldn’t have done much more. The first stint was very positive and I managed some nice overtakes. I probably could have finished fifth, but not higher. There are a lot of positives to take away since I learned a lot about the car and am getting more and more accustomed to it. With this kind of approach, we will continue to make progress. We’re still missing a few things, but if we do well, we could fight for a few podiums here and there.” – he pointed out.
The seven-time world champion also thanked the sea of red for the support he had already received during the Milan event. “Driving here is truly incredible. The passion of the tifosi is indescribable, and when you are part of Ferrari, everything feels even more special.” – the British driver concluded at the end of the Italian Grand Prix weekend.
