Lewis Hamilton revealed he was deeply moved – and also quite anxious – to show the new Formula 1 film for the first time to all the drivers in the paddock. The private screening took place on Wednesday evening in Monaco, attended by the drivers, their partners, and top Formula 1 executives, ahead of the global release set for next month.

The film, produced by legendary Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski (already director of Top Gun: Maverick), stars Brad Pitt as a veteran driver making a return to the grid. Lewis Hamilton, now with Ferrari, was closely involved in the production as co-producer and technical advisor.

“It wasn’t the first time I’d seen it, I’ve already watched it at least 20 times,” Lewis Hamilton told the media in the Monaco paddock. “But for me it was an incredible opportunity to work with Joe and Jerry, to see the whole process: from the first 30-page draft to building a real story, trying to make it as authentic as possible.”

For Lewis Hamilton, the reaction from the other drivers was crucial: “We were all there yesterday, I was sitting in the middle of the room and I started to feel nervous. Everyone was watching the film for the first time, and I kept turning around to see their reactions.”

“I really cared about what they thought. In the end, I asked them to give me honest feedback, even on technical things like pit stop timing or other details. But overall, I think the sound is amazing, the images are incredible, and it’s something that has never been seen before in F1.”

The film promises to be one of the most spectacular portrayals ever made of the world of Formula 1, combining Hollywood spectacle with the authenticity and adrenaline of motorsport.
