Recently, between the Fiorano runs and the Bahrain pre-season testing session, Lewis Hamilton drove the first Ferrari he will race in Formula 1, the SF-25, the new car from the Maranello team. The anticipation for the pairing between the most successful driver of all time and the most successful team in history is enormous, so much so that the prestigious American magazine Time dedicated its March cover story to the British champion.

“Being old is just a state of mind. Certainly, the body ages, but I will never be an old man,” Lewis Hamilton made clear, referring to the age difference between him and reigning champion Max Verstappen and teammate Charles Leclerc (12 years).

The seven-time world champion then highlighted, when compared to athletes like Tom Brady or LeBron James, who won at 40: “Don’t compare me to anyone else, ever. I have been and still am the first and only black driver who has ever done this sport. I was trained differently, I’ve been through a lot, and I had my own path. You can’t compare me to any other Formula 1 driver at 40, past or present, because no one is like me. I’m hungry, motivated, I don’t have a wife or kids. I’m focused on one thing: winning. It’s my number 1 priority.” – the seven-time Formula 1 world champion pointed out.
