A Ferrari changes your life
In the Melbourne paddock, dressed in Ferrari red, Lewis Hamilton can barely contain his smile and excitement for this new, bold, and prestigious adventure he has chosen to embark on at 40, after already winning 7 world titles and 105 Formula 1 races. Naturally, the British champion has been the most sought-after figure in these first official sessions of 2025, and it could not have been otherwise.
Lewis Hamilton’s determination
“What would make me happy at the end of 2025? First place would be enough. It will be difficult, but we are made to win, and we want to win. And if I manage to speak better Italian, I’ll be very satisfied,” Lewis Hamilton said in an interview with La Repubblica.
The anticipation for his first race with Ferrari is palpable: “It will be exciting. Over the years, I have gone up and down the pit lane looking at the red garage, and now I am in the red garage. I told my family about Ferrari only after signing. Having them all there at Fiorano was special.” Hamilton has a clear goal for his 2025 season with the Prancing Horse: “Helping Ferrari win the Constructors’ title. But it’s too early to say how things will go; the important thing is to leave nothing undone. I will always be grateful to Fred Vasseur—without his push, I would never have spoken to John Elkann and Benedetto Vigna. Being at Ferrari is a life-changing experience.” – the seven-time F1 world champion pointed out.
The interview then shifted to more general reflections: “I would really like to become a father. But right now, my only goal is to win the world championship. I am in awe of those who do their job at the highest level and also manage a family—I don’t know how they do it.” And again: “If I could meet Enzo Ferrari, I would ask him what inspired him. I have many curiosities because I know little about his life.”
He also touched on clothing: “In this new decade of my life, I want tailored suits, which I didn’t wear before. My style is evolving.” And on Italy: “I want to visit many places, go to the Dolomites and Sicily. Also to Valentino Rossi’s Ranch—I’ve been promising him for years, and sooner or later, I’ll do it.” As for social battles: “A friend of mine was denied a scholarship meant to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. That’s serious. But we must keep fighting; people’s mindsets don’t change overnight.” – the former Mercedes man added.
