Lewis in freefall
After a disappointing Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend, Lewis Hamilton’s mood at Friday’s press conference in Lusail was far from cheerful. On track, the seven-time world champion then faced a disastrous Sprint Qualifying session, getting eliminated already in the first segment and finishing only ahead of the two Alpine drivers. The 18th place finish hit Lewis Hamilton’s morale even harder, leaving him looking more dejected than ever in interviews with the international broadcast team.
Monosyllabic disappointment
Question: “How difficult was it to drive the car today?”
Hamilton: “As always”
Question: “You tried the wing with more downforce, it didn’t work?”
Hamilton: “No, clearly not”
Question: “Is there anything positive you can take into tomorrow? Do you think the Sprint will be a kind of test for you?”
Hamilton: “The weather is nice. The weather is nice.”
