Lewis Hamilton made an unusual addition to his Instagram activity during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend by resharing an AI-generated Formula 1 karaoke video featuring Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. It stood out because the Ferrari driver rarely uses his social channels to repost this kind of fan-made or AI-generated content.
The post arrived on Thursday night in Baku during a weekend in which several Formula 1 drivers and teams had already been producing light-hearted social media content involving one another. Lewis Hamilton first shared a story connected to Andrea Kimi Antonelli before following it with the more unexpected AI clip.
Lewis Hamilton joins Andrea Kimi Antonelli in Baku social media moment
In the first story, Andrea Kimi Antonelli appeared on top of his motorhome while recreating a familiar Charles Leclerc-related gag and directing it towards Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton initially continued walking to the left and indicated that he was wearing earbuds, before noticing Andrea Kimi Antonelli on the rooftop when he returned.
The second Instagram story was far more unusual. Lewis Hamilton reshared an AI-generated karaoke sequence showing Andrea Kimi Antonelli sitting in the back of a car alongside Charles Leclerc. Lewis Hamilton appeared in the driving seat, with four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen alongside him.
The original video had been uploaded by creator dan.directed and presented as an F1 karaoke clip produced using Higgsfield Genjutsu. Andrea Kimi Antonelli also reshared the video, extending a run of social-media exchanges involving drivers during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend.
Mercedes and McLaren add to Azerbaijan GP social media exchanges
The interaction was not limited to Lewis Hamilton and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Mercedes also published footage featuring George Russell discussing McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri while the McLaren pair were nearby filming their own content and playing Jenga.
Mercedes subsequently removed the original version and uploaded another edit, prompting fans to speculate about what had been contained in the deleted post.
McLaren then responded with footage from its own perspective, showing Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri interacting with George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The exchanges turned the Baku weekend into an unusually active period for Formula 1 social-media crossover, with different teams incorporating rival drivers and personnel into lighter content away from the competitive action on track.
