In recent weeks, Lewis Hamilton has reportedly presented a new dossier to Ferrari’s top management, reaffirming his determination to play an active role in the team’s growth process. After his high-profile move from Mercedes, his first season in red has fallen far short of expectations — with no podiums so far and nearly fifty points separating him from teammate Charles Leclerc. During the Belgian Grand Prix, Hamilton had already revealed that he had submitted several documents throughout the year, proposing both technical and organizational improvements to enhance communication and efficiency during race weekends. According to Corriere della Sera, the British driver recently sent another detailed report to the leadership in Maranello, urging a decisive shift in methods and internal procedures.
Tensions and parallels with Vettel
Reports suggest that Lewis Hamilton has been disappointed by the limited influence he holds within the team and by what insiders describe as an environment still constrained by internal politics reminiscent of the Sebastian Vettel era. The comparison with the German driver — who between 2015 and 2020 struggled to leave a lasting impact on Ferrari’s structure — seems inevitable. Lewis Hamilton is even believed to have sought advice from Vettel before beginning his adventure at Maranello. The adaptation challenges have also been visible on track: during the Singapore Grand Prix, the British driver criticized the team’s pit lane management, explaining that long waits in traffic cause tyre temperatures to drop, compromising qualifying performance. “Every time this happens, we fall further behind,” he said, urging the team to address this recurring issue.
The determination of a champion
Despite the setbacks, Lewis Hamilton remains convinced of Ferrari’s potential. His direct and sometimes critical approach stems from his desire to avoid the fate of great champions like Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, who both failed to secure a world title with the Scuderia. “I see enormous passion and talent within this team, but not all the parts are working in harmony,” the British driver stated. For this reason, he has taken it upon himself to motivate and unite every department, even if it means challenging the team’s internal hierarchy. Firmly believing that Ferrari can return to dominance, Lewis Hamilton is determined to make his mark in red — driving the Maranello-based squad toward future victories and, ultimately, the world championship that has eluded the Prancing Horse for so long.
