Lewis Hamilton shares update on Mission 44 and its growing global impact
Lewis Hamilton continues to extend his influence beyond the Formula 1 grid, using his platform to drive meaningful social change. As the founder of Mission 44, the Ferrari driver recently shared a personal update on the progress of the charitable foundation and the impact it is already having on young people across several continents.
In his message, Lewis Hamilton reflected on how important the project has become to him on a personal level. “Hi, everyone. I just wanted to update you on where we’re at with Mission 44. Setting up Mission 44 has been one of my proudest achievements, honestly,” he said, underlining the significance of the initiative alongside his sporting success.
Mission 44 was created with the aim of building a fairer and more inclusive future, particularly for young people who face structural barriers in education and employment. Lewis Hamilton emphasised the foundation’s commitment to long-term change, adding: “We’re working hard to drive change and create a fairer, more inclusive future for kids around the world.”
Since its launch, the foundation has already made substantial progress. “So far, we’ve reached over half a million young people across the UK, US and Brazil, and it’s been a real privilege to meet and host many of them at Grand Prix events,” the Ferrari driver explained. Those experiences have allowed Mission 44 to connect education, opportunity and inspiration directly with the world of elite motorsport.
One of the most meaningful aspects of the project for Lewis Hamilton has been its direct link to Formula 1. “Meeting our Incredible Motorsport Scholars at Silverstone this year was a real highlight and I’m really proud of this scholarship,” he said. The programme has been designed to open doors within motorsport, offering pathways into an industry that has traditionally been difficult to access.
Importantly, the initiative is already delivering tangible results. “It’s great to see that the students secure jobs in F1, so we’re seeing real progress,” Lewis Hamilton noted, pointing to outcomes that go beyond awareness and into lasting career opportunities.
Lewis Hamilton also took a moment to recognise the collective effort behind the foundation’s success. “Thank you to everyone for the amazing work and being a part of this mission,” he said, acknowledging the teams, partners and supporters who help turn the vision into reality.
Looking ahead, the seven-time world champion made it clear that Mission 44 is only just getting started. “There’s much, much more to come, so stay tuned,” Lewis Hamilton concluded.
As he embarks on the second year of his new chapter of his Formula 1 career with Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton’s continued dedication to Mission 44 reinforces his belief that success is not only measured by trophies, but also by the ability to create opportunity and lasting change beyond the sport.
