Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, controversy already brewing with British media: “A mafia boss outfit”. Lewis Hamilton's introduction at Ferrari becomes a stereotype for the British media.

Controversy arises in the British media as Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari is likened to a “mafia boss.” The excitement of the seven-time world champion’s move to Maranello is quickly overshadowed by tired stereotypes about Italy and Italians. Meanwhile, #44 is back at the factory for meetings and technical briefings, preparing for his debut at Fiorano, scheduled for tomorrow.

Lewis Hamilton’s presentation at Maranello has already gone viral. The first photos of the British champion in front of the Scuderia Ferrari headquarters have circulated worldwide. Laden with symbolism and hidden meanings, the excitement for a new era of the Prancing Horse is evident in every image. Yet, some have chosen to focus on other details.

This is the case with *The Telegraph*, a British newspaper, which on its website described the driver’s outfit in less than flattering terms: “Lewis Hamilton’s first day at Ferrari: dressed like a mafia boss and a photo shoot with the F40.” The article goes further, stating, “More of a mafia boss look than a Formula 1 driver.”

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari’s new chapter begins with history in the making
Lewis Hamilton’s first social media post as a Ferrari driver garnered millions of likes within hours. Among the 50,000+ comments from around the world, several came from fellow drivers. Former Mercedes teammate George Russell wrote in Italian, “Auguri fratello” (Congrats, brother). Lando Norris, on the other hand, echoed *The Telegraph’s* sentiment with a comment simply saying, “Don” [mafia boss].

Regardless, nothing will derail Ferrari’s plans. Everything is ready for #44’s first on-track test at Fiorano. It is set to take place tomorrow, January 22, though the weather could complicate proceedings.
