F1 | Hamilton praises Hadjar and warns him after his promotion to Red Bull for 2026
Lewis Hamilton has shared his thoughts on Isack Hadjar’s season and on the young French driver’s promotion to Red Bull for 2026. The relationship between the two has been clear for some time. Isack Hadjar has never hidden the fact that he sees Lewis Hamilton as an idol, and the Ferrari driver has often supported him during his first season in Formula 1. One only needs to recall the image of the seven-time world champion’s father comforting Isack Hadjar after his mistake on debut in Australia—pictures that quickly spread across social media and helped cement the bond between them.
Hamilton’s praise arrives
Lewis Hamilton sees immense talent in Isack Hadjar, and he reiterated that feeling on Thursday in Abu Dhabi, which opened the final weekend of the 2025 season. “I think he has had a wonderful season. He is still very, very young and he is still learning a lot about himself and about the environment around him. But his first year in Formula 1 has been incredible and he has adapted perfectly,” the Ferrari number 44 stated.
The former Mercedes driver then addressed Isack’s recent promotion to Red Bull, admitting that he had only learned about it recently. “We all know what happens to people who go to Red Bull and the environment they have to face. Obviously, not having been there myself, I don’t have much advice to give him, even though it seems like a very difficult situation. At Racing Bulls the atmosphere seems to be different.”
“I hope something changes compared to recent years and that they support him in the right way,” Lewis Hamilton added ahead of the final round of the 2025 Formula 1 campaign, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is set to take place at the Yas Marina Circuit, the 5.281 km motorsport racing track situated on Yas Island.
Coming from a driver who has seen every side of the sport, Lewis Hamilton’s praise will mean the world to Hadjar – and the subtle caution about life inside the Milton Keynes pressure cooker might just prove invaluable in twelve months’ time.
