Lewis Hamilton and the mysterious August 8 announcement: here’s what it’s about. Lewis Hamilton made a surprising August 8 announcement.

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari, 2025 F1

In the days leading up to August 8th, Lewis Hamilton, one of the most followed Formula 1 drivers worldwide and seven-time world champion, had teased his fans on various social media platforms by promising a significant announcement on this date. Given the challenges Lewis Hamilton has been facing during his current season driving for Ferrari, many fans and followers feared the worst. Rumors circulated that the British driver might be announcing his retirement from the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula 1. Thankfully, this was not the case. Instead, the Ferrari driver revealed that he had launched a new non-alcoholic beverage called “Humo,” created in collaboration with Almave. This news brought relief and excitement to fans all over the world.

The collaboration between Lewis Hamilton and Almave was officially announced on the late morning of Friday, August 8th, through Almave’s social media channels and subsequently shared on Lewis Hamilton’s own pages. The announcement post reads as follows:

“We proudly introduce Almave Humo, a non-alcoholic smoked distillate made from Espadín agave harvested at the foot of the Puebla volcanoes in Mexico. By adapting ancestral distillation techniques from the birthplace of mezcal, Humo offers the depth and allure of a traditional smoked spirit without any alcohol. Perfect for festive dinners and daily celebrations, for moments of discovery and deep connection, Humo delivers sophisticated cocktails and authenticity — beyond alcohol content.”

Iván Saldaña, one of the founders of Almave, highlighted in a subsequent interview that the idea for a non-alcoholic tequila originated directly from the Formula 1 champion himself. He explained, “The person who had the idea to bring agave into a non-alcoholic version and who challenged me to pursue it was, without a doubt, Lewis Hamilton. Lewis is the one who brought us the concept, the idea, and the spark or intention, and I am very grateful to him.”

This innovative project marks an exciting new venture for Lewis Hamilton beyond his racing career, demonstrating his interest in lifestyle, wellness, and sustainable beverage innovation. The launch of Humo reflects not only a growing global trend toward non-alcoholic alternatives but also Lewis Hamilton’s commitment to promoting healthier, sophisticated choices for consumers worldwide.

The collaboration with Almave, a company dedicated to producing authentic and traditionally inspired agave spirits, perfectly aligns with Lewis Hamilton’s vision of blending heritage and modernity. Humo represents a unique product that preserves the cultural richness of Mexican mezcal while offering an inclusive, alcohol-free option for those seeking refined taste experiences.

Fans and followers have welcomed this news enthusiastically, appreciating Lewis Hamilton’s openness to exploring new domains and his continuous drive to make a positive impact beyond the racetrack. The launch of Humo also positions Lewis Hamilton as a prominent figure in the expanding market of non-alcoholic beverages, reinforcing his status as a trendsetter both on and off the Formula 1 circuit.
