Leo Turrini urges Ferrari to support Charles Leclerc: give ‘Carletto’ a car worthy of his talent. Leo Turrini praises Charles Leclerc for his podium at Spa.

Italian journalist and commentator Leo Turrini has praised Charles Leclerc following his podium finish at the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. However, Leo Turrini also took the opportunity to highlight an ongoing concern: although Charles Leclerc has proven to be the clear leader of Scuderia Ferrari, the lack of a consistently competitive Formula 1 car could end up costing him the opportunity to fight for a world championship title in the future.

Reflecting on the latest performance in Belgium, Leo Turrini stressed the importance of the Monegasque driver’s contribution to the team from Maranello. In his analysis, Leo Turrini described Charles Leclerc as the benchmark figure within Ferrari’s driver line-up, underlining both his impressive consistency and the emotional burden that comes with carrying the team’s expectations without the machinery to match his talent.

“When they finally give Leclerc a title-worthy car, it will always feel too late,” wrote Leo Turrini. “Carletto has secured yet another podium. He is the point of reference for the entire Scuderia. But he must learn to better manage the weight of frustration. Still, as I often say, thank goodness Charles is there,” the Italian journalist added, once again recognising Leclerc’s undeniable value to the team and his ability to deliver under difficult circumstances.

The result at Spa-Francorchamps once again confirms the reliability and consistency of Charles Leclerc in delivering crucial points and podium finishes for Ferrari, even when the SF-25 single-seater does not appear capable of challenging Red Bull Racing and McLaren on a regular basis in terms of pure performance. Despite being at a technical disadvantage, Charles Leclerc continues to maximise the potential of his car.

For Scuderia Ferrari, the challenge going forward will be to build upon these strong individual performances and turn them into genuine victories. The team must also find a way to keep the motivation of their top driver high and ensure he feels supported in his quest for future championship success. Given Leclerc’s status as the undisputed leader of the team, providing him with the right car at the right time is crucial not only for his career but also for Ferrari’s ambitions of returning to the top of Formula 1.
