For fans of Formula 1, Ferrari and LEGO alike, 2026 could turn out to be one of the most exciting and appealing years in recent memory.
The world’s most famous brick manufacturer has scheduled the release, on 1 March, of a new model destined to sell out quickly. The car will be part of the LEGO Icons range and represents one of the most legendary machines in Formula 1 history.
The model in question is Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2004, the most successful Ferrari ever seen in Formula 1. That car achieved an extraordinary 15 victories from 18 Grands Prix, a level of dominance reached 22 years ago, and helped Michael Schumacher secure the seventh Drivers’ World Championship of his career.
The Ferrari F2004 will be the third chapter in the LEGO Icons Formula 1 series. The saga began in 2024 with the release of Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/4 and continued in 2025 with Nigel Mansell’s Williams FW14B. In short, these are all cars that dominated the seasons in which they raced, and Ferrari’s inclusion follows the same philosophy.
The set is expected to retail at a price of €69.99. It will consist of a total of 735 pieces, measure approximately 30 centimetres in length, and will also include a Michael Schumacher minifigure, complete with the all-red helmet he wore during that era.
“LEGO bricks have sparked creativity and a passion for building in millions of children and adults around the world,” said Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1.
“Thanks to this partnership, fans will be able to recreate and reimagine the world of Formula 1, brick by brick, exploring the complexity of the engineering and technology behind the sport through play.”
“We can’t wait to bring the appeal and excitement of Formula 1 to the LEGO Group’s network of passionate builders and to offer our fans another way to enjoy the sport with their friends and family.”
Julia Goldin, Chief Product and Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, added: “The LEGO Group has a proud history of recreating numerous Formula 1 cars with LEGO bricks, and we believe this new partnership will help bring fans even closer to the spectacle of the sport through LEGO play and building.”
“It will allow them to celebrate their passion for Formula 1 in more engaging and exciting ways, while seeing the power of LEGO creativity and imagination further enhance the thrill of F1.”
“We can’t wait to reveal everything that this exciting partnership has to offer both long-time fans and new followers of Formula 1 and the LEGO brand, at home and at the track.”
Whether you are a collector of the Icons series or a Ferrari fan looking to own a piece of Michael Schumacher’s history, this set represents the perfect bridge between nostalgia and modern engineering. With the F2004 joining the ranks of Senna’s McLaren and Mansell’s Williams, the LEGO Icons collection is quickly becoming a must-have timeline of Formula 1’s greatest technical achievements. As March 1st approaches, fans are already clearing space on their shelves to welcome what many consider to be the most beautiful and dominant Ferrari ever built.
