The starting grid at Las Vegas after qualifying
Everything is ready in Las Vegas for the 22nd round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. Qualifying, held early in the Italian morning, delivered pole position to the McLaren of the current championship leader, Lando Norris. Lining up alongside him will be Max Verstappen in the Red Bull, who hopes to keep his slim title chances alive on a cold Nevada Sunday.
The fight for pole position came alive on a track made extremely challenging by the rain that fell at the start of the session. Drivers began Q1 on full wet tyres before switching to intermediates in Q3, as conditions slowly improved but remained unpredictable.
The tricky weather produced several surprises, starting with the early elimination of Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli in Q1. The Ferrari driver qualified in last place for the first time in his long and decorated career.
Las Vegas GP: schedules and weather forecast
The lights on the Las Vegas starting grid will go out at 5:00 AM CET to officially begin the Las Vegas GP.
According to the latest forecasts, there is no significant risk of rainfall during the race, although conditions could shift in the hours leading up to the start of the Grand Prix.
Cold temperatures, however, are guaranteed to play a key role. November nights in Las Vegas can see the mercury drop to around 10°C, which may influence tyre warm-up, grip levels and overall race strategy.
What to watch tonight
- Can Norris convert pole into a victory and keep the title fight alive into the final two rounds?
