Lapo Elkann celebrates Ferrari’s front-row lockout in Miami: “Legendary!”. Lapo Elkann celebrates Ferrari's front-row lockout in Miami.

“Mythicals, Charles, Carlos and the whole Scuderia. Eyes on tomorrow, we are ready to support you ” – in this way Lapo Elkann expressed all his joy on Twitter for the front row lockout scored by Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in the Qualifying session for the 2022 Miami Grand Prix at the Miami International Autodrome.

The brother of Ferrari president John Elkann is present in Florida in the Maranello team’s garage led by team principal Mattia Binotto and for now he is experiencing a magical weekend in Miami.

It was since the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix that Ferrari hadn’t celebrated a one-two finish in qualifying, a good response after the disappointment in Imola. Max Verstappen had set the fastest time in the first run of Q3, but in the second he made a mistake in T1 in the quick change of direction between Turn-5 and Turn-6, the point where the F1-75 has always made the difference during the free practice sessions and the qualifying session this weekend.
