Home » Kimi Raikkonen: “Silverstone isn’t the best circuit for us, but we will keep pushing”

Kimi Raikkonen: “Silverstone isn’t the best circuit for us, but we will keep pushing”. Kimi has enjoyed an upturn in form with two consecutive podiums.

Scuderia Ferrari Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen is confident that the development push which the Maranello team has followed over the past two races will provide a boost for the British Grand Prix as it looks to halt its recent poor record at Silverstone.

The Italian side last tasted victory at the British round in 2011 with Fernando Alonso, while Kimi Raikkonen’s own win at Silverstone came for Ferrari 11 years ago, but the Italian manufacturer’s recent record is remarkably poor with those two victories the team’s only triumphs over the past 13 years. Kimi Raikkonen feels the development push Ferrari has followed over the past two races will provide a boost for the British Grand Prix as it looks to halt its recent poor record at Silverstone.

Despite relatively limited upgrades following its engine update which debuted at the Canadian Grand Prix, Kimi has enjoyed an upturn in form with two consecutive podiums – while some felt he could have clinched a long-await win in Austria – but the Finnish driver is confident Ferrari’s recent developments will provide results at Silverstone: “Obviously Silverstone, if you take it purely it hasn’t been the best of circuits for us in the last few years. But I’m looking forward to it, I think there are certain things that we are trying and will probably help there. And obviously a lot will depend on the conditions. The last two weekends have been quite similar, we keep pushing and trying to do better all the time. We try to do better than today in the next races. As a team we took solid points here and now we go into the next race.”
