Formula One official tyre supplier Pirelli has revealed the choices made by teams for next weekend’s British Grand Prix. Pirelli has nominated the C1, C2 and C3 compounds for the grand prix at the high-energy Silverstone circuit, the three hardest compounds from its range. As usual Pirelli mandates one of each compound for every driver, after which they are permitted free choice for the remaining 10 sets from their allocation of 13.
Alfa Romeo Racing drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi have made the same tyre choices for the next round of the 2019 Formula One season, the British GP: Kimi and Antonio will be able to use one set of the C1 Hard tyre, three sets of C2 Medium and nine sets of C3 Soft. Renault has adopted the most aggressive approach, choosing 10 sets of Softs, which leaves Daniel Ricciardo with a sole batch of Mediums. Williams has been the most conservative; both of its drivers will have seven sets of Softs available, with George Russell in receipt of five sets of Mediums.
The front-running teams have all made similar choices, with Ferrari and Red Bull opting for nine sets of Softs, three sets of Mediums, and just one set of Hards. Both Mercedes drivers will have eight sets of Softs, four Mediums and one allocation of Hards.
