After the splendid win secured by Charles Leclerc for Scuderia Ferrari in the Australian Grand Prix, the focus already shifts to the next round of the 2022 Formula 1 season, as the sport returns to Europe for one of the most exciting races, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at the Imola circuit.
For next Sunday, the Imola circuit is almost sold out (there are still some tickets for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix which you can buy here). Scuderia Ferrari’s impressive start to the 2022 Formula 1 championship, with two race victories in the first three races, has given a further push towards an appointment that will finally be able to have the natural setting for the public as per tradition, after in 2020 and 2021 we have had to deal with restrictions due to the pandemic.
Jean Alesi, a driver who was able to experience firsthand what it means to drive on the Italian circuit surrounded by the warmth of Ferrari fans, described the sensations that can be experienced inside the cockpit and which will certainly be special for Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz next week, as the Tifosi are ready to cheer for the Maranello team with the hope of a memorable weekend given the strong display showed by the F1-75 car in 2022:
“Imola, in the Ferrari tradition is the meeting place with the Tifosi, the “Curva Sud of the fans, while Monza has always been the “Curva Nord” – Jean Alesi said, in a recent interview for Italian daily newspaper Il Corriere della Sera, as reported by formulapassion.it – “as soon as you leave the pits you find yourself in the middle of the trees, like running in a forest. But soon after, at the Tosa corner, it’s like entering a full stadium. You can hear the screams coming from the hill as you drive, I heard them with the 12-cylinder, let alone now with these less noisy cars. A roar with every lap. At Rivazza, it is even better. As you descend from the Variante Alta, you see houses, windows and balconies and you feel like you are in a strange place, in the middle of a city. Then, when you go inside Rivazza 2 you see the overcrowded hill and you understand that Imola is unique” – Former Scuderia Ferrari driver Jean Alesi explained.
