But what do the former Ferraristi men think about the SF-23 challenger? Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport asked Ivan Capelli for an opinion. Let’s find out the view of the Italian former Formula One driver, who raced for the Maranello team in the 1992 Formula 1 season.
Ivan Capelli’s comment on the Ferrari SF-23 car
“I really liked the presentation, because after years of virtual launches, we have returned to an old-style presentation, much to the delight of the fans who were immediately able to see the new car in action”, Ivan Capelli began in his interview for La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Then, referring to the SF-23 car, he added: “From what I’ve seen, it’s a correct evolution that follows the philosophy of last year’s car, a sign that Ferrari believes a lot in their project, following a path that is different from the one of Red Bull and whoever followed it. After all, the 2022 car, apart from the reliability problems, had shown excellent performance. I was struck by how the air evacuation area was revised, with those side pontoons that were moved, and that exit of the flows at the top near the cockpit that wasn’t there before.” – the Italian pointed out.

Finally, Ivan Capelli was asked about new team principal Frederic Vasseur: “I’ve read that he will make some structural changes, but in this month little has been heard, a sign that instead of appearing on stage, he has rolled up his sleeves and worked a lot in the factory” – the former Formula 1 driver concluded.
