One, then two, and now three.
Quite apart from the fact that, according to recent estimates, Charles Leclerc earned around $34 million in 2025—making the purchase of a luxury yacht hardly an impossible indulgence—his passion for the sea is both genuine and long-standing.
Born and raised in the Principality of Monaco, Charles Leclerc learned to swim in pools located alongside the famous street circuit that hosts the Monaco Grand Prix. The Ferrari Formula 1 driver has often spoken about his love for the water.
“I can’t stay away from the sea for too long,” he has said on multiple occasions.
As a child, when the summer heat arrived, Charles Leclerc would head straight for the waters of Larvotto Beach. Later, once his serious Formula 1 contracts arrived, his relationship with the sea naturally evolved—from swimming off the coast to enjoying life on board luxury yachts.
And in Charles Leclerc’s case, those yachts have come from one of Italy’s most prestigious names in nautical engineering: Riva.
The historic Italian shipyard also shares close ties with the automotive world and Ferrari in particular. For several seasons, the Riva logo appeared on the helmets of Ferrari drivers, while Piero Ferrari sits on the board of the Ferretti Group, the parent company that includes the iconic yacht builder.
It is therefore hardly surprising that the Monegasque driver—who is set to race in Montreal on May 24 before returning for his home Grand Prix in Monaco on June 7—has now taken delivery of the third Riva yacht of his personal ownership journey. That journey began in 2020 with a 15-metre Riva 48 Dolceriva, which Charles Leclerc named Monza in tribute to the Italian circuit where he had claimed victory the previous year.
In 2022, he upgraded to the Riva 66 Ribelle, a sportfly yacht measuring over 20 metres, which he named Sedici—Italian for sixteen, his Ferrari race number at the time. That model reinterpreted the aggressive style and spirit of 1980s performance yachts in a modern format.
Now, Charles Leclerc has taken another major step up, becoming the owner of a Riva 102’ Corsaro Super—the twentieth example built in the series. This represents a significant leap not only in prestige, but also in size and price. Measuring just over 30 metres in length and nearly 7 metres in beam, the yacht enters true superyacht territory. While the exact cost of Charles Leclerc’s heavily customised version is unknown—especially given that the Ferrari driver reportedly took personal involvement in selecting premium interior design details and luxury finishes—industry estimates suggest the final price could easily fall between €18 million and €20 million.
Inside the Riva 102’ Corsaro Super
The Riva 102’ Corsaro Super is the modern evolution of the 100’ Corsaro and was developed through a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the Ferretti Group’s strategic product committee, and its engineering division.
The yacht features a sleek, highly dynamic exterior profile, with expansive glass surfaces designed to create visual continuity between the interior living spaces and the outdoor decks.
Space is one of the vessel’s defining strengths. The upper deck alone offers 43 square metres of usable area, while total outdoor living space exceeds 100 square metres. One of the standout features is the spectacular beach club, which spans more than 35 square metres and provides direct access to the sea. This is complemented by an inflatable platform designed to further extend the leisure area while at anchor.
Power comes from two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each producing 2,638 horsepower. That gives the yacht a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots, impressive figures for a vessel of this scale and luxury level. Onboard comfort and reduced roll while cruising are supported by an advanced stabilisation system, including Hydrotab interceptor trim correction technology, Sleipner Vector Fins, and Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilisers.
For Charles Leclerc, it is not just another luxury purchase—it is the latest expression of a lifelong connection to the sea, delivered with unmistakable Italian style.
