Charles Leclerc has unveiled his new helmet for his eighth season with Ferrari and explained the reasoning behind some of his design choices. The Maranello team is gradually revealing details that will define the 2026 Formula 1 season. The car itself, however, is scheduled to be revealed on Friday, January 23. On January 19, Ferrari showcased the race suits that Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will wear this year — a clean, classic look dominated by red with a slightly more prominent touch of white compared to recent seasons.
Alongside the race suits, the drivers’ helmets for the 2026 season were also revealed.
The new helmet
Charles Leclerc’s new helmet design does not differ dramatically from previous versions. For 2026, the Monegasque driver has once again opted for a simple and linear style. The predominant color is Ferrari red, with the iconic Monegasque flag displayed on top. However, a new detail has been added compared to last year.
Through a video posted on Ferrari’s official account, Charles Leclerc explained some of his color choices. The driver said: “I kept a base similar to last year. Of course, red and white. I wanted it to be, in a sense, simple, obviously with the Monegasque flag, as well as my personal colors.”
Leclerc also explained the decision to add a touch of blue: “I added my favorite color, which is baby blue. It’s slightly different from last year but not too different.” In the past, whenever Ferrari added a hint of blue to their livery, Charles Leclerc has never hidden his appreciation for the color. A notable example was the 2024 Miami Grand Prix, when to celebrate the team’s connection to the United States, Ferrari used two shades of blue: La Plata and Azzurro Dino.
