Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc dedicates the helmet livery for the 2024 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka circuit to Jules Bianchi, the Ferrari Driver Academy member, who on 5 October 2014, during the Japanese Grand Prix, lost control of his Marussia car in very wet conditions and collided with a recovery vehicle, suffering a diffuse axonal injury. He underwent emergency surgery and was placed in an induced coma, remaining comatose until his death on July 17, 2015.
