The beauty or the obstacle of Ferrari? The two sides of the same coin see a “calm” Carlos Sainz and a more “aggressive” Charles Leclerc.
In the very recent Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring circuit, we saw an interesting fact that could make Ferrari’s position well understood for the future. Carlos Sainz takes 5th place with a calm and conservative performance. A sign of dedication and hard work to reach the goal in silence. On the other hand, we saw an eccentric Charles Leclerc who animated the Austrian Sunday with his overtakes that we can define as “Gilles Villeneuve”.
Of course, we should be emphasized the tough fight that involved the Monegasque driver and the unstoppable Sergio Perez, penalized twice, each time with a five second penalty, for having forced the Ferrari driver off track two times. Charles Lerclec, therefore, had to work twice as much to earn a respectable eighth place.
Given these premises, it is clear how the two drivers are so different but at the same time equally strong and effective.
One is more patient and prudent, the other one looks to take advantage of the first useful opportunity as soon as possible. No attitude should be considered wrong, indeed. This is probably what makes this new Ferrari partnership unique and the youngest ever at Maranello team. Black and white, calm and storm, fire and water; but which together form the spark that was needed by a team that wants to shine again and which needed the strength of “different” drivers.
