Sky Sport analyst and commentator Davide Valsecchi interviewed former Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen ahead of the 2021 French Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard circuit and asked Kimi if the new generation of drivers (Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris or George Russell) have the potential and are ready to fight for the Formula 1 world title:
“Sure” – Kimi replied – “I think that Verstappen has a good chance already this year.”
Kimi Raikkonen remains the last driver to win the title for Scuderia Ferrari (in 2007), but the current Alfa Romeo Racing driver is confident Charles Leclerc will be able to follow in his footsteps alongside the Maranello team:
“We have seen how fast Charles Leclerc is on a one lap, in the race I am sure he can improve but also you know the car is not there yet and Ferrari needs to improve as a team. I am sure he will come and win a championship for Ferrari in the future. Next year is a key moment for them, Ferrari has to get the new rules right and be able to fight for the title.” – former Scuderia Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen said, in a recent interview Sky Sport Italy’s Davide Valsecchi.
