Live commentary and real-time updates of the third and final free practice session of the Formula 1 weekend in Budapest

Good morning to all our readers from ScuderiaFans.com. In just a few moments, we will be live to provide full coverage of the third and final free practice session of the 2025 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, which represents Round 14 of the current championship season and the final race before the much-anticipated summer break.

This crucial FP3 session is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM local time and will conclude at 1:30 PM. It represents the last opportunity for the teams to fine-tune their setup configurations before this afternoon’s qualifying session, which is set to get underway at 4:00 PM. These final 60 minutes of practice will be essential in determining the competitive order and preparing for the decisive phase of the weekend.

During Friday’s free practice sessions, it was the McLaren Formula 1 Team that emerged as the dominant force on track. British driver Lando Norris and his Australian teammate Oscar Piastri set the pace in both FP1 and FP2, consistently locking out the top two positions in that same order. Their strong performance allowed the Woking-based team to effectively claim a virtual front row across both Friday sessions.

Right behind the two papaya-colored McLaren cars, it was Charles Leclerc who positioned himself as the closest challenger. The Monegasque Ferrari driver is determined to overturn the narrative that the Hungaroring circuit is one of the tracks on the calendar where he typically struggles to perform at his best. This weekend, he appears motivated to break that trend and deliver a strong showing.

On the other hand, there is concern surrounding Max Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing team. The Dutch driver appeared to endure one of his most difficult preparation days in recent memory. In Friday’s FP2 session, the reigning world champion was only able to finish in 14th position—an unusually poor result for both the driver and the Milton Keynes-based team.

Will this order reflect the true competitive hierarchy for the rest of the weekend, or will Red Bull’s engineers manage to find a solution and restore their performance levels before qualifying?
