Qualifying ends in Monte Carlo for the eighth round of the F1 season: here is the starting grid and penalties ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, set to take place on Sunday, May 25. A harsh penalty arrives for Ferrari and for Lewis Hamilton, both of whom are handed a three-place grid drop.

For the eighth round of the championship, Ferrari is attempting to challenge McLaren, currently the technical benchmark. Ferrari trails its rivals in the standings, with team principal Fred Vasseur stating there is still clear potential yet to be unlocked from the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
