Among the variables that can decide the outcome of the race at the Hungaroring is certainly the choice of the right strategies: let’s see what Pirelli predicts for the F1 Hungarian GP.
According to Pirelli’s forecasts, we should expect a double stop. The fastest strategy is expected to be starting on medium tires before switching to hard and then medium tires.
In this case, the pit stop windows range from the sixteenth to the twenty-first lap and from the forty-fifth to the fifty-first lap.
An alternative could be starting on medium tires and then switching to hard tires twice. If teams opt for this strategy, the first pit stop window would be moved up a few laps, between the thirteenth and eighteenth lap, while the second would be between the forty-first and forty-seventh lap.
The third option available to teams involves starting on soft tires with a subsequent double switch to hard tires. In this case, the pit stop window would be between the ninth and fourteenth lap and between the thirty-eighth and forty-fourth lap.
For this weekend, Pirelli has also predicted a fourth option for teams that involves two stops. In this case, after starting on soft tires, there would be a switch to hard tires and then to medium tires.
Remember that for the Hungarian weekend, Pirelli has decided to bring a hard C3, a medium C4, and a soft C5 to the track. These are the sets of tires still available to the teams:
