On Valentine’s Day, Scuderia Ferrari gave a splendid gift to its fans throughout Italy and the entire world, organizing a splendid presentation of the brand new SF-23 challenger, the car with which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz hope to be able to challenge Red Bull and Mercedes for the 2023 Formula 1 titles.
As rightly pointed out by team principal Frederic Vasseur, the Maranello team has decided to distance itself a lot from the mostly virtual events set up by the other teams. Scuderia Ferrari presented the real car directly on the track and in front of 500 cheering fans. A show much appreciated both in Italy and abroad, a moment that allows the Frederic Vasseur era to start off on the right foot.
Today Ferrari will return to the Fiorano circuit, however this time with greater attention to the technical aspects. In fact, the Maranello team has organized its first filming day of the 2023 Formula 1 season, which will give Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz the opportunity to get a more concrete idea of the real qualities of the new single-seater. In the meantime, the SF-23 has already become the object of careful analysis and reflection in the main Italian newspapers, testifying to the passion that Ferrari awakens in the whole public every year.
“The presentation of the SF-23 at Fiorano for the next World Championship is a show to fall in love with on Valentine’s Day – wrote Alessandra Retico in La Repubblica – […] there was the car, the real one: developed under the management of Mattia Binotto, it is an evolution of its predecessor, but completely redesigned. It has increased the vertical load for the new regulations and to find the right balance. The suspensions were revised, there is a different front wing as well as the nose, extreme bodywork. […] It hits the track again today in Fiorano with the filming day for the promotional shots: 100 km that will be very useful to try something more, just when Mercedes will reveal its new car, probably much faster after having its 2022 weaknesses fixed. Ferrari does not look to others. The team starts again from the 2nd place in the Constructors standings and Drivers standings with Charles Leclerc. […]”.

“[…] The festive atmosphere masks a very aggressive approach – highlighted Stefano Mancini in La Stampa – Charles Leclerc did the first two laps on the Fiorano track to check that everything was working, Carlos Sainz got behind the wheel for others three laps […]. Not a kilometer of these pre-tests allowed by the regulation should be wasted. Today the SF-23 continues at the Fiorano circuit «where we will approach the limit» insists the Spanish driver. Long gone are the days when engineers advised drivers to break-in without risk. If all goes well, Ferrari will arrive at the Bahrain circuit with some of the standard work already finished and will be able to concentrate on development for the first three races (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia). A couple of simulations in race set-up are scheduled: one for aerodynamics and the other for reliability, areas that were affected by problems in 2022. The race has begun.” – La Stampa concluded.
