Gp Italia, Mario Isola: “A Monza sarà fondamentale la Qualifica”. Sul tracciato brianzolo porterà le stesse mescole proposte a Spa.

Per la sua gara di casa nel “Tempio della Velocità”, Pirelli ha nominato i pneumatici P Zero White medium, Yellow soft e Red supersoft: gli stessi colori scelti nelle ultime due edizioni del Gran Premio d’Italia, con la differenza che quest’anno le mescole sono più morbide di uno step rispetto al 2017. Le monoposto più prestazionali nella storia della Formula 1 affronteranno il circuito più veloce della stagione, uno dei quattro in calendario sin dal primo Mondiale nel 1950, e caratterizzato da lunghi rettilinei.

Il circuito dal punto di vista delle gomme
– Nel 2017, la maggior parte dei piloti ha optato per un solo pit stop, con il giro più veloce in gara inferiore oltre due secondi rispetto al 2016.
– Lo scorso anno una strategia alternativa soft-supersoft ha aiutato Daniel Ricciardo, 4° al traguardo, a recuperare ben 12 posizioni rispetto alla partenza dopo una penalità in griglia.
– Le monoposto 2018 sono le più veloci di sempre, con un progresso di prestazione che si produce soprattutto in curva. A Monza le performance da record si ottengono principalmente sui lunghi rettilinei, con monoposto a bassa deportanza aerodinamica.
– Nonostante il clima sia generalmente caldo e asciutto in questo periodo, nel 2017 una pioggia torrenziale ha disturbato le qualifiche a Monza.

Mario Isola, responsabile car racing di Pirelli: “Per il Gran Premio d’Italia avremo le stesse mescole nominate per la gara in Belgio dello scorso weekend. Quello di Monza è un tracciato storico che esalta i carichi longitudinali e dove le prestazioni del motore sono particolarmente importanti. Le monoposto attuali porteranno a velocità davvero elevate, con mescole che, a parità di nome, sono di fatto più morbide di uno step rispetto alle equivalenti del 2017. Sarà molto interessante vedere quale effetto avrà questo fattore, in una gara in cui negli ultimi anni quasi tutti i piloti hanno optato per un solo pit stop. La qualifica è tradizionalmente cruciale a Monza, anche se l’incredibile rimonta di Daniel Ricciardo nel 2017 ha dimostrato come la strategia in gara possa davvero fare la differenza. I Team hanno optato per scelte molto varie dei set disponibili per questo fine settimana, scelte che potenzialmente dimostrano diversi approcci in vista della gara”.

Quali sono le altre novità
– I piloti Mercedes, Ferrari e Red Bull hanno optato per scelte completamente diverse dei set di mescole disponibili.
– Durante il weekend, Milano ospiterà l’F1 Fan Festival. Mercoledì, Ferrari e Sauber saranno impegnate con alcuni giri dimostrativi su un circuito stradale nella zona dei Navigli.
– Riprende il programma dei Pirelli Hot Laps, con sette supercar equipaggiate con pneumatici stradali P Zero.
– Il 5 e 6 settembre sono previsti due giorni di test di sviluppo in ottica 2019, con
– McLaren in pista al Paul Ricard per provare i pneumatici da bagnato.
