GP Italia: l’idea è di togliere a Monza una chicane e riproporre la vecchia Lesmo 2. L’attuazione del progetto richiede un investimento di circa 100 milioni di euro.

Monza vuole togliere una delle tre chicane e potrebbe ripristinare il disegno originario della seconda curva di Lesmo per rafforzare il suo ruolo di “Tempio della velocità”. L’intenzione è di rifarsi bella in tempo per il GP del centenario dell’Autodromo Nazionale di Monza che si celebrerà nel 2022.

L’attuazione del progetto richiede un investimento di circa 100 milioni di euro che renderebbe l’impianto brianzolo moderno, in linea con gli standard internazionali.

L’idea che è stata spiegata dal presidente di ACI Italia, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, alla Gazzetta dello Sport è molto ambiziosa perché comprenderebbe anche l’allargamento di tutta la pista a 12 metri e la realizzazione di nuovi sottopassi per l’accesso al paddock e il rifacimento almeno della tribuna centrale oltre a pensare al riutilizzo dell’anello di alta velocità che è vincolato dalle barriere di sicurezza che sono state installate per lo Stradale.

La sensazione è che Angelo Sticchi Damiani voglia misurare la “febbre” ai partner di Monza: oltre a registrare la mancanza dei soldi per finanziare questa idea che sarebbe bellissima va prima ridiscussa la Convenzione con il Consorzio del Parco (che comprende i comuni di Monza, Milano, e la Regione Lombardia) e il rinnovo del contratto per la prosecuzione del GP d’Italia con F1.

Nodi che devono essere sciolti per dare stabilità al GP d’Italia: quella di Monza è una gara che è considerata fra le “irrinunciabili” del calendario per cui può godere di un valore storico che gli è universalmente riconosciuto.

Liberty sarebbe disposta a tenersi l’appuntamento italiano con l’impianto così com’è, ma se la SIAS, la società di gestione dell’autodromo controllata dall’ACI, vuole ridiscutere gli onori e gli oneri del GP d’Italia è evidente che una ristrutturazione della struttura aiuterebbe a trovare opportunità di business che l’organizzatore lombardo potrebbe sfruttare.
