Hosted every year on the spectacular estate of the Duke of Richmond in West Sussex, the Festival of Speed remains a unique celebration where legendary racing cars, motorcycles, modern Formula 1 machinery and future automotive innovations all share the same stage.
Spread across an impressive 11,000-acre estate—covering almost 45 square kilometers—the event offered enthusiasts the opportunity not only to admire some of the most famous vehicles ever built in the paddock, but also to watch them in action on Goodwood’s legendary hill climb.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed
First held in 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed has grown into one of the most prestigious events on the global motorsport calendar. Every year it brings together historic racing cars, modern competition machinery, motorcycles, manufacturers and world-famous drivers for a weekend unlike any other.
The famous hill climb remains the centerpiece of the festival, with hundreds of vehicles tackling the short but demanding course throughout the weekend. Rather than serving as a conventional race, the event gives fans a rare opportunity to see iconic machines from every era driven at speed in front of live audiences.
One of the Festival’s defining characteristics is the incredible variety on display. Visitors can walk through the expansive paddock areas to get up close to legendary Formula 1 cars, endurance prototypes, rally cars, superbikes and groundbreaking new road vehicles before watching many of them head straight onto the hill climb.
