Austrian former Formula One racing driver Gerhard Berger was impressed with Sebastian Vettel’s driving and performance in the qualifying sesion ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix saying that the Scuderia Ferrari German driver is like a vampire. That is what the German’s former Toro Rosso boss Gerhard Berger has claimed in the build up to Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix.
Sebastian Vettel is vying for a fifth World Drivers’ Championship this year as he looks to close the gap on F1’s most successful driver ever, Michael Schumacher. And he has made the best possible start to the 2018 campaign, securing wins in the season-opening Australian and Bahrain Grands Prix. Sebastian will start on pole at the Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday morning and will be eager to maintain his 100 per cent record.
Gerhard Berger has now compared the Scuderia Ferrari driver to a vampire while suggesting his performances are outstripping those of previous years: “We are seeing the best Vettel ever,” Gerhard Berger said, as reported by German outlet Auto Bild – “He is like a vampire. Once he licks blood and sees victory, he does everything to get it.”
Gerhard Berger then went on to explain his rather odd comparison in more detail: “[Vettel] has the best overall overview in the race, knows exactly when his moment has come, and then instinctively hits. He has always been able to, but he has sharpened all his systems again. This season Vettel shows all ingredients of the cocktail from which a world champion is mixed.” – the Austrian former Formula One racing driver concluded, according to Austrian former Formula One racing driver.
