Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has faced gearbox issues prior to the start of the Monaco Grand Prix.
Scuderia Ferrari seemed confident with Charles Leclerc’s gearbox. They thought that, after the crash in Q3, the gearbox wasn’t damaged too badly. After his first warm up lap towards the grid, things are looking a lot worse for the man on pole.
During the recon-lap, Charkes Leclerc is telling the team over the radio that there is something going on with the gearbox. The car is back in the garage at the moment. Ferrari took the car back to the garage, but they couldn’t make it back out before the pitlane closed. Leclerc will therefore not start from pole position, and instead start from the pitlane. This means that Max Verstappen is now on pole position, with Valtteri Bottas also on the front row.
