Confirmations have emerged regarding the much-discussed arrival of ex-Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto at Alpine as the new team principal, replacing Otmar Szafnauer. According to British former racing driver and current Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle, this possibility cannot be ruled out. For the British commentator, Mattia Binotto would represent the ideal profile to choose for a team in search of a new team principal, considering the extensive experience of the technician gained at the Maranello team.
“I heard the same rumor,” Martin Brundle declared during the weekend in Belgium. “This is a funny place, as you know. You can circulate a rumor for fun and see how quickly it comes back to you as a matter of fact. But it cannot be ruled out.”
“Mattia Binotto has a lot of experience in the Ferrari system. He knows how to manage a Formula 1 team. Obviously, it didn’t work out for him at Ferrari, otherwise, he would still be there. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it were announced.” – he pointed out.
This is the opinion of the official Formula 1 commentator, who neither confirms nor denies the possible arrival of the Italian technician at Alpine. Mattia Binotto has been on a hiatus for seven months after resigning from Maranello last December, and the opportunity to return to the grid with a prestigious brand is certainly tempting.
Interim team principal Bruno Famin, appointed as a temporary replacement for the former Racing Point man, prefers to maintain a certain confidentiality on the matter: “We are not at this stage.”

“With all my direct collaborators, I will assess the situation. I will consider what the priorities are at Enstone, and consolidating things. We will determine if we need a new structure or not. When this is done, we will see. I will take the necessary time to make this assessment, and we will decide afterward.” – he explained.
