Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc secured pole position for the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday, while Formula 1 championship leader Max Verstappen was only eighth quickest. In a wet qualifying session at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, drivers used slicks in Q3, with Lewis Hamilton holding advantage after the first runs.
Yet both Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez leapfrogged the Mercedes driver, who still took his first top three start of the 2022 Formula One championship. Max Verstappen was fighting for pole when Red Bull informed him to abort his flying run, due to fuel worries, which could have lead to disqualification
