Four-time Formula 1 World Champion and former Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel recently took part in an off-road bike race in Norway. To remain unnoticed, the German decided to register using a pseudonym. Sebastian Vettel tried to get through the Offroad Finnmark bike race unnoticed. He didn’t succeed.
As reported by the Italian website formula1.it, which quotes the Norwegian publication Altaposten, Sebastian Vettel participated in the event under the name Sebastian Sprater, derived from his wife Hanna Prater’s name. The German driver with 53 Formula 1 race victories added an “S” to the name and was registered under the Norwegian flag.
Welcomed by the public and his family at the finish line, the former Ferrari driver crossed the finish line in downtown Altamark just before 7 pm last Saturday, finishing 44th out of 184 male participants in the annual event. The 37-year-old tackled the 150 km mountain bike course in just under nine hours. Sebastian Vettel but did not wish to comment to the attending press.
