Alfa Romeo Racing have had a brilliant start to the season, with star man Kimi Raikkonen scoring points in every race so far to put his team level with Renault in the Constructors’ standings. It’s a huge turnaround from this time last season, when the team, then called Sauber, had only scored two points, scored by Marcus Ericsson in Bahrain.
Team principal Frederic Vasseur has been crucial to the change in fortunes, and he revealed how pleased he was with his team’s start to the 2019 season: “I normally don’t spend much time in overanalyzing previous races – I look forward and work hard on how we can come back even stronger – but after three races it makes sense to reflect on our performance so far. We’ve scored points, which is great, the car showed great potential, but at the same time we faced some technical issues and tricky situations. Kimi is doing a great job, his feedback to engineers is as precise as it can be and as soon as he sits in the car he gets the job done.” – the Alfa Romeo Racing Team Principal concluded, ahead of the 2019 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which will take place this weekend at the Baku City Circuit, as Alfa Romeo will hope to continue the strong start to the 2019 Formula One season.
