F1 | Vasseur: “Abu Dhabi marks the end of a long and demanding season”
The French team principal has shared a very concise statement ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final race of the 2025 Formula 1 championship — a season that brought very little satisfaction to the Maranello team. Ferrari’s attention is already fully focused on the 678 project, the single-seater that will compete next year.
Ferrari would almost prefer to wrap up the 2025 campaign without making the final trip to Abu Dhabi. The outcome for the Scuderia is already sealed: whatever happens at the Yas Marina Circuit, the result will not be enough to change the team’s fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
After a disastrous Qatar Grand Prix, the Maranello squad finds itself in a sort of no man’s land: behind Red Bull in third place, with a deficit of 44 points, and ahead of Williams in fifth, with a comfortable margin of 245 points.
The SF-25 began the season with the ambition of fighting for both world titles. However, from the very first rounds it quickly became clear that the campaign would be a challenging one for the team sporting the Prancing Horse. The season ends with zero victories and seven podium finishes — all achieved by Charles Leclerc — while Lewis Hamilton never really managed to integrate smoothly into the team, often appearing like an element somewhat detached from the overall structure.
Fully aware of the difficulties, Fred Vasseur chose to limit himself to very few words when discussing the trip to Yas Marina. The Ferrari team principal avoided making any bold predictions and kept his focus on the essentials:
“Abu Dhabi marks the end of a long and demanding season, for the drivers as well as for the entire team. At Yas Marina we will give everything right to the very end and, as a team, we will try to finish the Championship on a positive note.” – the French manager concluded.
Those measured words perfectly capture the mood inside the garage: relief that a tough year is almost over, determination to end it with pride, and quiet excitement about the clean sheet that 2026 will finally bring.
