Ferrari is called to close out the American triple-header in Brazil: after the Austin one-two finish with Charles Leclerc’s win, followed by Carlos Sainz’s victory in Mexico, the Scuderia is heading to Interlagos with high morale, as the Maranello team is in a tight Constructors’ Championship fight with McLaren, which leads by only 29 points.
At the season’s start, Fred Vasseur predicted five wins for the SF-24, and the goal was brilliantly achieved last Sunday, yet the positive streak may continue, potentially recovering more points against the Woking team. Now, the French team principal is avoiding bold declarations, although he is fully aware of Maranello’s potential and the risks they may face in the challenging trip to São Paulo…
“We’ve reached the final race of the American triple-header, where so far, we have managed to maximize the potential of our package. At Interlagos, we face the season’s fifth Sprint weekend, which means the entire team will be called to make a major physical and mental effort.”
“With this format, the support from the rest of the team in Maranello will be even more important than usual. Their work began even before we left for Austin with preparation on the simulator, and it hasn’t stopped over these three weeks, including work done in the remote garage and analyses based on data collected on the track after each race.” – the Ferrari team principal explained, ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend.
Fred Vasseur is eager to highlight not only the excellent trackside work by the Maranello team but also the dedication of those contributing from home, preparing cars that must immediately be competitive with only one practice session available…
“This large group, distributed between Maranello and São Paulo, must ensure that Charles and Carlos have a solid baseline in terms of balance and setup right from the start so that they can focus on driving. At Interlagos, the weather could also play a role, which makes it even more essential for everyone to operate at the highest level of concentration to prepare and take advantage of all scenarios.” – he pointed out – “Morale is high, the momentum is in our favor, and we must keep working this way. We’ll only look at the standings later.” – the French manager concluded.
