A bitter Sunday for Ferrari in Miami
Ferrari endured a difficult Sunday at the Miami Grand Prix, bringing home a total of 14 points thanks to a sixth-place finish for Charles Leclerc and seventh place for Lewis Hamilton.
The Ferrari team principal’s analysis
Charles Leclerc made mistakes in the closing stages of the race, while Lewis Hamilton was involved in contact with Franco Colapinto in the opening laps and then had to manage a power unit temperature issue throughout the entire Grand Prix.
Despite the challenging result, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur remains convinced that it is far too early to lose confidence, as he emphasized in an interview with Sky: “Is it still possible to fight for the Championship? Yes, we are only at the fourth race. In racing, it is always possible. Last year Verstappen was very far behind at Monza, and yet the title was still undecided at the final race.”
“We are missing one or two tenths if we look at the Qualifying sessions,” Fred Vasseur added. “We have to keep developing, knowing that this will be the case for the entire season. The target is to bring new upgrades soon.” – the French manager concluded.
As the 2026 season continues to unfold, the results from Miami suggest that the battle for supremacy is far from settled, with technical reliability and mid-season development likely to be the deciding factors. Fans can expect the intensity to ramp up in the coming weeks as teams head back to the drawing board to refine their packages for the next round of the championship.
