Charles Leclerc achieved an excellent result at the Austin Grand Prix, claiming a podium finish. At the end of the race, over team radio, Fred Vasseur immediately reassured the Monegasque driver, explaining that Ferrari will soon be back to winning ways.
Ferrari finally returns to the front. In the United States Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc finished in third position, battling for second place with Lando Norris until the very last laps. After the race in Austin, Fred Vasseur quickly calmed Charles Leclerc over the radio, telling him that this podium is just a taste of what’s to come when Ferrari returns to victory.
Fred Vasseur speaks directly over radio, but Charles Leclerc doesn’t understand!
At the end of the Austin race, Charles Leclerc opened up over team radio with Fred Vasseur and his engineer Bryan Bozzi after securing the podium.
“Good work this weekend. It’s great to be back on the podium, I think we really worked well over these days,” he said.
The Ferrari Team Principal immediately responded in a straightforward manner, saying: “Don’t worry, Charles, we will win.” However, the Monegasque driver didn’t quite catch his words: “I didn’t understand anything, Fred!”
After another playful exchange with the Frenchman, Charles Leclerc asked Bryan Bozzi if Norris had received any track limit penalties, with the engineer replying jokingly.
“No penalties for Norris?” he asked shortly after. “No, confirmed, no penalties for him, but you made him sweat,” Bryan Bozzi responded.
It was a weekend that Ferrari will definitely want to learn from, especially considering Hamilton’s fourth-place finish. While there is still a lot of work to do to return to winning, finally a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel seems visible for the Scuderia.
