Fred Vasseur gave an initial assessment of the Bahrain tests, explaining what Ferrari is focusing on. Only three days to prepare for a season. For this reason, teams must and can only focus on specific aspects during the 24 hours available, then comparing the data collected on track with those from simulations.
Regarding Ferrari, for example, there is one particular aspect that is being focused on in the first phase of the tests, as confirmed by Team Principal Fred Vasseur at the Bahrain press conference.
In the first twelve hours of track activity, the Scuderia decided to carry out several race pace simulations. Of course, as is often the case during testing, it is impossible to compare the data collected by the SF-25 with that of other cars since each team uses different engine maps and fuel loads.
However, by looking at the Bahrain Grand Prix times from last year, it is already possible to see some improvement in terms of race pace. Improvement that, we repeat, cannot be quantified precisely at this moment.
Vasseur reveals Ferrari’s program During the press conference for team principals, Fred Vasseur made an initial assessment of Ferrari’s Bahrain tests so far. “So far everything has gone well,” the French manager said.
“We are focusing on reliability, which is always a very sensitive topic at this point in the year. It’s not yet the time to think about performance because we don’t know the fuel load of others. For this reason, we prefer to focus on ourselves and the data we are collecting,” the Team Principal of the Scuderia added.
