Formula 1 is reportedly moving forward with plans to stage another unified season launch in 2027, following the overwhelming success of its first large-scale pre-season showcase. Rather than treating the concept as a one-off celebration, the championship is now said to be evaluating the event as a long-term fixture that could become a permanent highlight of every Formula 1 campaign.
According to reports from RacingNews365, Formula 1’s commercial management is exploring the possibility of organizing another spectacular launch featuring all ten teams and the full driver lineup together on one stage. After attracting worldwide attention in 2025, the championship believes the format offers an ideal opportunity to engage fans before the opening Grand Prix while generating enormous global exposure for teams, sponsors and manufacturers.
Formula 1 wants to build on the success of its first unified launch
The inaugural edition was held in February 2025 at London’s iconic O2 Arena as part of Formula 1’s celebrations marking the sport’s 75th anniversary. Every team participated in the event, with all 20 drivers appearing together as the championship unveiled the liveries that would compete throughout the season.
The show proved to be a major commercial and promotional success, attracting thousands of spectators inside the arena while generating millions of online views across digital platforms. The combination of entertainment, driver presentations and team reveals demonstrated that Formula 1 could transform a traditional pre-season activity into a global fan experience.
Encouraged by those results, Formula 1 is now believed to be considering a rotating host model that would allow different countries to stage future editions instead of keeping the event permanently in the United Kingdom.
Italy emerges as the favorite for the 2027 edition
Although the first unified launch was appropriately staged in Great Britain, widely regarded as the birthplace of the Formula 1 World Championship, Italy now appears to be the leading candidate for the next edition.
Few countries have contributed more to the history, identity and global popularity of Formula 1 than Italy. The nation’s deep motorsport heritage is inseparable from the legacy of Ferrari, with the Maranello team remaining the only constructor to have competed continuously since the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship season in 1950. The presence of Ferrari ensures that Italy remains one of the sport’s emotional and commercial centers, making it a natural destination for an event designed to celebrate Formula 1 on a global stage.
By 2027, Italian motorsport could also enjoy renewed momentum on the driver front. Alongside rising star Kimi Antonelli, Leonardo Fornaroli is expected to strengthen Italy’s representation on the Formula 1 grid, giving local supporters even more reasons to embrace a major international launch event on home soil.
Milan could provide the perfect backdrop
Among the possible venues, Milan is understood to be the preferred location. The city has already demonstrated its ability to host large-scale Formula 1 celebrations after welcoming Ferrari’s 2025 season presentation at the historic Castello Sforzesco, where thousands of fans gathered to celebrate the start of the campaign.
With its combination of world-famous architecture, outstanding transport infrastructure and international appeal, Milan would offer Formula 1 an ideal setting for an event designed to reach audiences far beyond traditional motorsport fans. The city’s reputation as a global center for fashion, design and entertainment also aligns with Formula 1’s growing emphasis on delivering premium live experiences alongside the sporting spectacle.
While no official confirmation has yet been issued, preparations and discussions are reportedly progressing as Formula 1 evaluates the most suitable venue for the next edition. The long-term objective extends beyond a single event, with championship executives said to be aiming to establish the all-team launch as a permanent feature of the Formula 1 calendar ahead of each new season.
If those plans are finalized, Italy could become the first country to host the championship’s new-generation launch event outside the United Kingdom, reinforcing its central role in Formula 1 while giving fans the opportunity to witness every team, including Ferrari, unveil their new season in one spectacular celebration.
