The official Formula 1 testing period is close to an end, with only two days left from the second session, which takes place this week at the Catalunya Circuit in Barcelona, where Sebastian Vettel will have the opportunity to drive the SF70H for the last time until the first race of the 2017 Formula 1 season, the Australian Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place on 26 March 2017 in Melbourne.
After five very productive testing days, Kimi Raikkonen finished third for Scuderia Ferrari on Wednesday, but was unable to come anywhere close to Sebastian Vettel’s 168 laps from Tuesday, as the Finn was involved in an incident that resulted in hitting the barriers on his 54th lap at Turn 3; Kimi seemed to lose the rear of the Ferrari car as he came through the corner on medium tyres, damaging his front wing on impact and beaching in the gravel. It was the first proper blemish on Ferrari’s pre-season record so far, but the Italian team hopes to resume normal activity on Thursday.
