Formula 1 continues its global expansion and today announced a new agreement with Standard Chartered, which will become an official partner starting from the 2026 season for Wealth Management and Corporate & Investment Banking. The partnership will also include events designed to engage fans attending Grands Prix around the world.
The reason behind this agreement lies in the shared values of the two brands. Both Formula 1 and Standard Chartered are driven by a constant pursuit of performance, precision, and a positive global impact, reflecting their truly international reach. The announcement follows the remarkable popularity achieved by Formula 1, which now boasts a global fanbase of 827 million people worldwide.
Standard Chartered operates in almost all the markets where Formula 1 stages its races. For this reason, the bank will organise dedicated trackside activities for its clients and guests. In addition, its support will also extend to the F1 Academy, where its contribution will go beyond on-track involvement alone.
The agreement between Formula 1 and Standard Chartered
Formula 1 officially announced the partnership with Standard Chartered. “I am delighted to welcome Standard Chartered, an extraordinary financial powerhouse, as a new partner of Formula 1,” said Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1. “We are both truly global organisations, sharing incredible locations around the world and the ambition to strive for the highest levels of performance while creating experiences that excite people and bring them together. With Standard Chartered’s support of the F1 Academy, I look forward to welcoming them into the paddock and discovering what we can achieve together,” he added.
At the same time, Roberto Hoornweg, CEO for Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered, also commented on the agreement. “We are proud to become an Official Partner of Formula 1, which shares our relentless commitment to high performance, innovation, a world-class client experience, and distinctive global connectivity,” he stated.
The Formula 1 Circus is clearly continuing to expand on a global scale, and this forms the foundation of the agreement. “Formula 1’s presence reflects our own cross-border network, with operations in 19 of the 21 Formula 1 race markets and in many other countries where clients can enjoy one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports in the world,” he added.
Exclusive experiences for fans
Standard Chartered operates globally, just like Formula 1. It is an international banking group with a presence in 54 of the world’s most dynamic markets. “We will leverage our international network and our expertise to bring clients closer to the excitement of Formula 1. Our clients value a premium service,” revealed Judy Hsu, Chief Executive Officer for Wealth and Retail Banking at Standard Chartered.
“This partnership will unlock exclusive experiences for them,” she added. “Our support for the F1 Academy strengthens our commitment to promoting female talent and developing the next generation of motorsport talent through our unique global footprint,” she concluded.
As Formula 1 enters this new era of financial and strategic collaboration, the focus remains firmly on bridging the gap between elite performance and the fan experience. With 2026 marking the start of this journey, both the sport and its new partner are set to redefine how global brands connect with a diverse and growing audience. It is clear that this alliance is not just about branding on a car, but about creating a lasting legacy that supports inclusivity and innovation throughout the entire racing world.
